History
When the Rosette Printing Press opened in Karachi in 1980, it was just a small office without machines or equipment and all incoming jobs were sent to different printing presses for execution. Yet in spite of the lack of equipment, Rosette, by the quality it brought to any commission it was given, very soon made an impact. In 1983 Rosette acquired a process camera and in 1988, the company was in a position to invest in a Heidelberg offset printing press and other equipment. Today, Rosette has established itself as one of the finest printing firms in Pakistan.
As for Rosette’s owner, Shaheedullah Baray, he began his career on a completely different track. A lawyer by profession, he soon realised his interests lay elsewhere. Leaving the legal profession behind, Baray gained admittance to the prestigious George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology in Canada, where he earned an Associate Degree in Graphic Arts Printing Technology. After returning to Pakistan, he joined one of the leading printing presses in the country but soon found him frustrated by his inability to apply his newly acquired knowledge. So he decided to go it alone and established Rosette – and the rest, as they say, is history. What sets Rosette apart from other printers is Baray’s insistence on quality control and his unbending refusal to cut corners. This largely explains why his organization has come to be recognized as the standard bearer for this industry.
