Making a Micro-documentary on historical places by Arena North Karachi:

Arena Multimedia North Karachi Branch arranged a tour especially for the students of 2nd semester (A\V Digital fx suite) on different historical places for their final project.
For that purpose we had Mr Awais mehmood also with us to help out students in their video making assignments.

Concept of that trip was that how students can make documentary student films with a low budget.

Making documentaries and that their budding student filmmakers will have access to the appropriate equipment. They will need digital MiniDV cameras, digital video recording tapes and external microphones (preferably), as well as one or more computers with editing software, video capture facility and ample storage space.

Historical places are of special interest to archaeologists and history students. Pakistan is having one of the exciting tourist destinations in South Asia.

It was a full day journey all the students reach the center early in the morning of Sunday 11-oct-09. Students were very excited and energetic. They all were having their cameras with it for the photo shoot and the movie shoot.

First students decided to go Jamshoro. It is a city in Jamshoro District, Sindh Pakistan. It has a long distance to reach 150 kilometers north-east from the provincial capital Karachi. So all the students had a great fun in the bus. After covering a very long distance they reached there at Almanzer where they did a photo shot of dam and streams.

After spending a plenty of time they move towards Thatta it is an historic town of 22,000 inhabitants in the Sindh it’s a huge city and so we don’t have that much time to visit the city full so as students request first we went to Keengher Jheel the largest freshwater lake in the country. The weather was very pleasant students enjoyed a lot while doing boating

All had a lunch their. After that some students were go to enjoy in the water and some groups were busy with the teacher in the shootings and they took lots of beautiful landscape pictures.

In last we had a small visit in Makli the heat of interior Sindh also where they saw very old shrines of different Muslim legends In contrast to the synergetic architecture of their monuments, which integrate Hindu and Islamic motifs, are mausoleums that clearly show the Central Asian roots of the later dynasty. This impressed the student a lot.

Finally it was evening & the magnificent picnic unfortunately came to an end but the wave of freshness & energy in body & mind will last for a long time in our memories.
