Where ever the digital era takes you, your legacy remain the same and always reminded you the time when modern technology hasn’t taken its place as its today.  Same goes for Pakistan Television (PTV). ARENA NAZIMABAD is feeling glad to have a visit in such a valuable place on Tue, 3rd Jan-2012. Gigantic studios, huge setups equipped with the rarest technology at this time, PTV has its own approach of work. Mr. Ameen with the reference of Mr. Shakeel Ahmed from Public Relations Officer welcomed our students in PTV – Karachi Centre. Later, they handed over our students to the Senior Television Engineer Mr. Tasneem Ahmed Khan who conducted the whole visit.

Mr. Tasneem Ahmed took our students first towards the studios where live transmissions are recorded. They briefed about the procedures, roles and equipment involved to air the live transmission. Students found it very interesting as they’ve watched live programs in bulk but never got the opportunity to have their details. Then Mr. Tasneem showed us that technology which is used for terrestrial transmission and how it is being maintained by PTV. He told us about the scheduling of the programs and advertisement in between them. He then took us to Master Control Room where all the on-air scheduling and showing has been done.

In the end, students got the chance to watch the professional non linear editing in their editing department. Students inquired about the latest methods and equipment used in the non linear editing from Mr. Ahmer (Senior Editor in PTV). ARENA NAZIMABAD is grateful to all the members in PTV for sharing their precious time with our students who found this visit very significant and memorable.
